Lacquered Yuzen/Chiyogami Paper features a distinctive embossed texture not found in ordinary Yuzen or Chiyogami paper. The raised embossed finish is meant to resemble traditional Japanese lacquerware pieces. Each layer of color is hand-silkscreened onto a high-content Kozo (Mulberry) base and then coated in wax. This multi-step process creates an extremely strong, durable and flexible sheet of paper. The lacquered chiyogami is ideal for origami foldings which require a sturdy paper with a glossy, embossed finish.
