Dyed and Batik Lokta Origami Paper from Nepal

Have you tried Nepalese Lokta paper for origami folding before? If not, you are in for a real treat! Handmade Lokta Paper is an eco-friendly paper hand-made from the fiber of the "Nepal Paper Plant," also called the Daphne Shrub or Lokta Bush. The cultivation of this "tree free" paper is an eco-friendly resource and a reliable revenue stream for the village artisans of Nepal's rural and urban areas.

These Lokta Papers combine handmade paper with rich, vibrant color and dyed patterns. The result is a beautiful paper with unique color designs and textures on both sides of the sheet. The paper is slightly heavier than traditional origami papers, but it folds like a dream and is extremely durable. The colors and hand-made properties of the paper provide incredible surface color and lines to any origami sculpture.
